2019 Kingston Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth Volunteer Opportunities
The Work Bond Program for 2019 requires 6 hours of work from each family to redeem the $50 work bond. At the end of the season, families fulfilling their 6 hours of work service will have their $50 work bond refunded.
There are several opportunities during the season to earn hours towards your work bond. Each sign-up counts as 2 hours of work service unless otherwise noted:

The Kingston Cal Ripken & Babe Ruth Concession Stands are solely supported by volunteers. Without you, the parent volunteer, there are no concessions. We rely on you to not only help the operation run smoothly, but to also provide a great service for everyone in the league.
Detailed instructions/procedures are posted in every concession stand (like Opening/Closing/Cooking/etc.)

The most asked question during a game is "What's the score?" Help answer that question by operating the scoreboard.

Help bring the game to life by providing a voice to the action. Every kid loves to hear their name as the walk up to bat. And of course, the fans love the music between innings.

Field Prep (Pre-Game & Post-Game)
Certainly one of the least recognized jobs but definitely one of the most important. A well lined and groomed field is the perfect start to a game. It's an invaluable help to the coaches and allows them more time with the kids to warm up. After the game, a quick drag and rake helps keep the field in optimum condition.

Not-for-profit youth sports leagues such as KCRBRL operate through the support of community voluntarism, specifically YOU, in order to be successful. It will take a team effort from everyone in the KCRBRL family to provide the best experience we want for ALL our children. We lean heavily onl you, our parents, to fulfill the various jobs. There will be plenty of opportunities to assist so please join in when you see an activity that needs to be filled. Many hands make light work. Your $50 work bond will be returned at the end of the season upon completion of 6 hrs of work, but please, feel free to contribute more if you are available.
